Need help finding wide backing fabric this is black with gold designs.
I can find regular yardage but I would really like a deep black wide fabric (108" or more) with gold designs for the backing of my Dancing Cranes quilt.
I have googled till I'm dizzy! I have tried looking at all the main ones - fabric.com, thousand bolts, Marshalls, Hancocks in Paducah, equilter, etc...
I have used black with gold designs as sashing between blocks and around the dancing cranes panel. Several of the blocks have black and gold also. I participated in an asian saturday sampler a few years ago and decided they would be perfect with the dancing cranes. It was supposed to be a paper-pieced center star but I totally messed that up - LOL!
If any one comes across something like this I would appreciate you letting me know. I want to quilt the top using gold thread but my quilting is not pretty enough to do gold on a black backing. I suppose I could find a gold wide back but would really like black with gold. Even if the design is just gold specs or circles or swirls.
You know how you get an idea in your head and nothing else will do? That's me on this.
