If you go to the burbs, type in the name of the town and see what pops up. The recommendations here are great. Used to eat lunch and watch the boats go through the Ballard Locks. I LOVED going to Quiltworks Northwest in Bellevue. It's an interesting store and they also sell beads. Like we don't get in enough trouble with fabric, right? Bellevue also has Pacific Fabrics and Crafts which is a step up from Joanne's which is also in Bellevue. Issaquah (my old hometown of 18 years) has a shop named 'Gossypium." It hasn't been open very long, but has wonderful fabric...all top quality. Bothell has a nice quilt shop and is also the home of That Patchwork Place publishing. The publishing company used to have sales open to the public every so often, and you might call and ask. Or if you see a Half Price Book Store, go check out the qulting section. They usually have a good selection. Can you tell I miss my old home?
