This is an area of lots of lakes and a huge tourist area so I am sure you will find someone from the area to point you in the right direction.
Enjoy your stay in the area, there is a lot to do, you just have to travel a little to enjoy all of it. I lived in Ottawa for three years 15 years ago and I would go back there in a heart beat.
