I used cloth diapers on my DD 26 yrs ago. I layered them with layers or batting, sorry I still don't the pattern I made. I bought a few and then made a pattern from them. I also would put some vinegar in the rinse cycle. I has natural disinfective and also makes them really soft. That's what my Mom taught me, it had been done in our family for yrs! Good luck!
