I learned some important lessons from a well loved quilt. My quilter friend and I made a quilt for a charity auction. This was early on in our quilting days. Well, my brother was the highest bidder. I had no idea how well it would be used and, washed once a week. My DSL asked us to repair it. We practically remade the quilt. We learned that accurate sized seam allowances are important. Use better quailty fabric. Don't tie a quilt you think will be used a lot. And, include care instructions.
