I'm also going 'home' for a visit next month and one of my favorite places is the Pacific Fabric Warehouse near the sports stadiums. It is a warehouse for sure - the old iron and metal part is on the ground level and the fabric section is upstairs. Allow lots of time to rummage through everything. Lots of notions and yarns and fabric. If you're a frugal shopper the Goodwill is near by and you can gets stuff (clothes for fabric content) by the pound. First thing I've already packed is an empty 2nd suitcase! Sew many shops to see no matter which direction you go. Have fun.
