Here's a hint .... zap in the microwave for a bit first.
That will help to soften the beast and make your mutilation a little easier.
If it has been waxed ... wrap in paper towels before zapping, so you don;t have a puddle of wax to deal with.
To be Honest .... IMHO .... the best thing to do with rutabagas/turnips is to refuse them in the first place!
And not to let them follow you home!!!!!!
