The lamp seem vintage too; have anybody ever seen something like that? Curious to know if it was sold like that or if somebody someday just decide to convert an unused sewing machine into something else.
Profannie, I have an old green Elna Supermatic as a bedside lamp; But I just use it as is, with the small 15-watt (I think) sewing machine bulb as my glowing little night light.

It adds a nice glow to the room. Not enough to read by, but cozy all the same. ;-)

One -could- add that crazy hat-lime lamp as you showed in the link, and still have a functioning sewing machine. Now there's a thought!
