I like the knit fusible interfacing. You put the stretch of the fusible the opposite way of the stretch of the t-shirt and it leaves the t-shirt nice and soft. Make sure your iron isn't too hot when you fuse it though!
This is exactly what I did and it sewed together very nicely. And the blocks didn't seem that much heavier than a good quality cotton. Ann
