I'm Fabric-a-holic..... I agree with Neesie. If it's on sale & it could be a backing too, I will buy everything on the bolt. Most I ever bought was 10 yds...but the price was $2.99/yd & it was good fabric with a wonderful soft feel. My problem is they don't put the blenders on sale for a good price, just the focus fabrics. I HAVE to stop buying all those focus fabrics. haha Don't think that will ever happen.
Seriously, if I had it to do over again, I would probably try to pick out material for each different pattern I wanted to sew. I have soooo much stash that I will never use it in my lifetime. Thank goodness I have a daughter that quilts & she is more than willing to help me use it. Trouble is, she wants my really special stuff. Duh!
