I just took at look at Lancaster -- my father's family was from Minersville and Pottsville and so I have a soft spot for Pennsylvania -- although those two locations look very different now than they did when I was a child. I was surprised that most of the real estate available in Lancaster was in the form of attached houses. Disappointing.
My sister-in-law and family moved to Smyrna TN quite a few years ago and they love life down there. I'll have to ask her about snakes.
BTW, my husband is no fan of snakes either. I guess if we go South they're inevitable, so I'll need a good sharp hoe and/or a gun! That's the one good thing about Long Beach. No snakes at the beach. Just ocean that comes through your front door.
