No, this is slightly more than one layer cake....I was making two matching twin sized quilts, but I wanted them over large. I think I used 48 ten inch blocks, and a layer cake has 42. I also bought extra fabric for the borders.
The pattern is from Missouri Star, called Double Slice Layer Cake. Just google that and it will take you to the video, in case it is a pattern you are interested in. It was very quick to put together.
I thought the fabrics went together well, which isn't true for all layer cakes....just my opinion there.
