Big time loner here
I work 6-12 hour night shift in a row in a busy ER . I deal with some of the nastiest most attention seeking people around and see them at their worst, so I am fine with my own company on my days off . I do love going to a quilt show a few times a year with a former co-worker who quilts but am also fine going alone if she can't go. I would love to join a guild to be around once a month or so but I do not know of any around except two and when I inquired about coming to a meeting at one of them they were not too thrilled it seemed to have newbies , And that is fine because this board is my guild ! I love to talk about sewing with others and this is the happening place !
(I must also say that I went to a quilt show in hillsboro Oh a couple of years ago and the ladies that put on that show were very nice and welcoming ,I thought about going to that one but lost the information on meeting times. I know that some are members here and I didn't want them to think I was speaking about them )
