Making your own ruler/templates
I have admired Dresden blocks/quilts for years but most of the patterns and the ruler I purchased required making 20 blades for each block. I thought maybe I would try making a ruler that would require only 12 blades. Yeh, I could handle making 12 blades instead of 20 (Did I mention I want fast results?) I have acrylic that I had purchased at a yard sale so this morning, after seeing the gorgeous quilt of the week here on the QB, I decided to go in, draw something up with a 30 degree angle and see if I could make it work. Then after making the ruler I just had to test it out and see if it was accurate. I am happy to say I was a success! This block lays flat as a pancake. Yippee!
