If it were a wall hanging it might make a difference because that if viewed in one direction but with a quilt that you throw and snuggle up with who cares about the direction. I just grab and snuggle and the top becomes whatever edge is closest to my chin. With your quilt no matter which way you grab it some are always in the right direction.
