Also, an idea to put the marks on... you could use a clear (acetate?) sheet that goes through your printer. Just add the measurements on via computer, print it out and glue it on. It would come out very neat and tidy, permanent, with no smearing..
I would think a scroll saw would work just fine and I love your idea for printing on acetate. I don't have any on hand but may buy a few sheets just in case I want to make something else some time.
And for those who asked, I have no intention of selling any of them. It took me most of the day to make this one.
