I learned to make log cabins from Judy Martin's book. I made her Snake River log cabin, but changed the block a little bit and changed the layout a lot. If you scan down you will see a layout of my blocks that's similar to the one on the cover, but the actual quilt in the top pictures looks nothing like it. That's one of the beauties of log cabins - so many possible layout options.
