Well guess what! I just discovered I have the book One-Block Wonders Cubed and never used it. However, in just glancing through I haven't seen the part where you make more background triangles to even out the design. I understand if the whole quilt is made up of cube blocks. I did see where it calls for cutting the outside strips individually but the Penny Halgren video makes the process much easier IMHO by using one long strip & sewing triangles to it then flip & trim. The One-Block book has instructions for appliqueing cubes to the background. It may have other methods of getting blocks on background but I'm not that far into it yet.
