I also buy pre-cuts as well. Usually mine are "rolled/arranged" in a way that I can see at least a "hint" of all of the fabrics. As the others said, they're usually part of a fabric line, and you can look at all of them that way. I also love our fq swap here on the board..though I agree with Bear and hope mine are cut like I cut what I ship..not "small". I don't grouse if I don't exactly "mesh" with what's sent as far as colors/patterns..as with a swap, I know I am signing up to get what I get... We all have great taste here, though, eh??!! I also buy yardage.. I am just a "sucker" for fabrics!
Mckwilter, that is a lovely quilt. You are so right, I am one who can (usually does) take forever to pick my fabrics for a quilt. I am getting better at "seeing" all "matchy" is fine, but so is exploring different colors/designs! Also agree if one has arthritis or pain, pre-cuts can be awesome. This is the beauty of this board and quilting...we all have unique tastes, can share them, and learn, too.
Regards all,
Kif
Have to say, the raveling edges on some pre-cuts are a nuisance...if I used mine quicker they would have less time to ravel.
