I use the original straight stitch foot that comes with every machine, a walking foot & the hopping or darning foot for FMQ. Most straight stitching is done well with either of the first two. The walking foot advances the top at the same speed as the bottom of your quilt theoretically and the hopping/darning foot is for any curvy FMQ as it allows you to move the quilt wherever you want it to stitch. I hope that helps.
