Sheluma, I had the same thoughts this afternoon. I think the machine gets a Fail.

As you sew, you want both hands free, able to lift, push, pull, arrange fabric. If the left hand needs to be pushed down in order to operate the machine, then I forsee a nauseating start-stop-fast-slow thing all the time, for the left hand cannot remain constantly pushed down. Each time you would adjust the fabric, the machine would stop. And you could only sew a few stitches at a time before having to lift your hand to free up the fabric.

I don't actually think the foot pedal is a problem for people's co-ordination, is it? But if it is, then this girl is on the right track - and maybe a forehead-pushed comfy lever sticking out from the top of the machine would work better! ;-)

Still, I think it is nifty that someone did this. I am always impressed with Different Thought! :-)
