I've tried posting this 3 times! If it doesn't go this time, I'm not trying again! Anyway, this picture was taken when I was a little over 4 years old. The picture was my Great-Grandmother's. It hung on a wall in the corner behind a large, cast iron, pot-bellied stove that heated with wood and coal. I remember sitting under this picture and behind that stove in the wintertime, only 3 or 4 feet away. I loved sitting in the rocker in the corner, but it was hot when the stove was going! I would sit there until my face got red and sweat rolled down my face.
The pic is a little damaged from the direct sunlight that came in the window for several hours a day. It's a light spot about center of my face, between my eyes, down my nose...
My Great-Grandma has been gone for over a year now. I got the picture not quite a year ago. My daughter was almost exactly the same age as I was in the picture when we got the picture back. I started to ask my Mom about this picture once, and she had gotten it already and was going to give it to me!
I still have it in the old frame Granny had it in. The frame is too big for the picture and not in the best shape from age and the wood and coal damage. I can't seem to take it out and re-frame it...??? holding on to memories, I suppose. I hope you like it. It was always one of my favorites!
