hahahaha i'm imagining pulling my left knee up to try to use it to press down on the base of the machine and get it to go!

the issues she said new people have trouble with - how to thread a machine, how to use the footpedal, and having enough room in the harp area - honestly, the first two you can master in a few minutes, and then you practice to get fluent. the harp area - i've never thought that was a problem until i was sewing quilts. how big of a seam is she sewing?

but kudos to her for her inventiveness. it's a worthwhile goal and it does have a certain artful & beautiful appearance. love the wooden base, as long as it doesn't wear and start giving splinters!
