Money aside, the if the Pfaff gives you pleasure, buy it. Then get an old Singer or an old Kenmore for all of your straight sewing. You should be able to buy a good Singer or an old Kenmore for about the cost of servicing the Pfaff. Then you won't have to have the Pfaff serviced as often. An old simple Singer or Kenmore will pay for itself.
