Thanks Joe. Yep pretty sure it was dropped. We couldn't get a nice fit to re glue as some of the ceramic was missing so we are now taking a resistance unit from another pedal and putting it in the good knee foot pedal. We will get a good working pedal eventually.
I had a ceramic foot controller that was broken on a Singer 15 clone also. I took a foot controller from a "plastic" Singer, spliced the wires, and replaced the broken foot controller with it. It has been working great ever since.
Hopefully you can find a good solution to your problem.
