Thank you! Yes, the serial # is AD34B403. And I took off the silver cap next to the top spool pin, looked down in and it is a sludgy mess. I took some q-tips and got a lot of the sludge out, but need to get some longer swabs. When I turn the flywheel everything moves, the needles goes up and down and the feed dogs move, but it won't move the fabric, so I assume the bobbin area is as much a mess as the gearing above. I will tackle that tomorrow. Thank you for telling me where the Serial # was. I hadn't seen that before. Now I can do a search and see how to dismantle the electrical so I can get the machine out of the cabinet for cleaning and refinishing the cabinet.
I have one I need to work on, too - same cabinet. It is kind of scary - everything on the bottom side is inclosed.
