I had a pale lavender picked out for mine, but our kid with the art degree said that the walls would reflect and affect my perception of color. So, even though I have lots of natural light, my walls are "white dove" and the carpet is cream. Of course, when our kids come to visit and try to wander in with cups of coffee, I am tempted to put police tape across the doorway.
But it's great for finding pins and needles.
