You will all be proud to know...I fixed my Featherweight!
With much internet searching and researching, I took that little puppy apart and found someone had assembled the bobbin case base backwards. Go me!!!! But, I first had to take it completely off the machine and SOAK it in machine oil and let it sit a while before I could get it unlocked from each other. She is a sewing right along now!
