Default 60th wedding anniversary quilts done

I made these two large lap quilts for my husband's brother and sister-in-law who will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in early October. I used some novelty fabric I had for the borders of the quilt for my sister-in-law. They owned a dairy farm for many years and I found the cow fabrics a couple years ago at a thrift shop and added to BIL's quilt. I wanted the quilts longer than they are wide and not sure the borders were the best decision but I didn't want to make more log cabin blocks.

Machine quilted on my Janome 6600 now (straight stitching only!), then binding done by machine. The backs are flannel--pink cheetah on my sister-in-law's and plaids on my brother-in-law's. These are my first log cabin blocks, and the next time I would use narrower strips.
