There are labels you can buy, by the panel at some quilt stores. Or you can use a piece of light colored fabric left from the quilt, or you could use a left over block. I press my label to shiney side of freezer paper. It makes writing easier. I use a fabric pen. Press again to set the ink. Fold in all the raw edges and sew on the quilt. I ususally write the name of the quilt, who it's for, date, my name, and city and state if there is room.
