I have made several of these. I just cut the sweatshirt apart, cut all the ribbing off, cut the front down the center. Then I put fabric on it and quilt it. I made one of two coordinating fabrics with the shirt of one fabric and the sleeves the other. I wore it this past weekend and got another compliment on it. I know it is at least 10 or 12 years old, but people still like it. I have fabric to make another one but haven't gotten around to doing it. I think the next one I will put the sweatshirt upside down to make it a little more puffy after it is quilted.
