Default Featherweight 221

I have many high end computerized machines, but have always wanted a Featherweight. Finding and getting are very far apart when owners want high prices for machines in not-so-high condition. I was able to get a gift of a treadle machine several years ago (BIL is a fireman and found one in a barn the department was going to use in a practice fire). Walked into my dealer to purchase a foot for by Quattro and what do I see way back in the corner of the store? A Featherweight case! When I opened it up I found my machine! A Singer 221! They said someone had brought in 5---yes 5 machines that had been hidden away. This was the last one! Very few scratches, still shines like new. Missing a few feet. All but one decal is in perfect condition. Case is in good condition, handle is slightly worn, and inside smells funky. I know the purist would say it is not in pristine or even excellent condition, but for what I have seen out there going for outlandish prices, I would rate it an 9 out of 10. From what I can find, it was manufactured sometime between 1940 and 1947. I just got it last night, so I need to research. I wanted one from the 20's, but I am sooooo excited. My grandmother started a quilt on her Featherweight from the 20's, but she never finished it. I will finish it on one from the 40's. I think Grandma would be proud.
