That could be $30 for batting, and 2 cents per square inch... I don't think that is unreasonable for a rural area. If you're happy with the quilting, I would chalk it up to experience, and enjoy your quilt! Think of it as 50 cents per day for the first year you use it, and then all the future years of comfort with it are a bonus.
