No kidding!! I personally wish it were possible to prevent any other quilter from ruining their blades (and wasting money) on Fiskars mats. They are not made with a substance that prevents dulling blades; they are not "self-healing". Please don't waste your money! Olfa was the original and, in my opinion, is still better than nearly every other mat available to us.
