Good eye! There is a spring in a loop shape that stretches from the motor pulley to the bobbin winder.
I'll post a picture when I get home tonight.

Cathy, Does yours have a belt to run the bobbin winder? If my perspective is accurate a dedicated belt or treadle belt is needed to run the bobbin winder.
