Perhaps it was meant as a Halloween scare? (PSST if you were wondering what's in the drawer, nuthin' but a spider)
At our local Salvation Army, they have a Machine very similar to this one that they "did research on." They have a card on it with lots of information on it and have dated the machine as 1798. They are asking $375 dollars for it. After seeing it there for a couple of months, I talked to the manager and told her that there was no way possible that the dating of the machine was right and all the other information on the card is incorrect and that they will never get $375 for it. She thanked me and asked me what a reasonable price would be and I told her she would be pushing it at $100. A month later the machine is still sitting there with a $375 price tag!!!!
