I think I would encourage her to use one of your machines until you're sure she really likes to sew. I also would think a 17 year old is a bit old for Hello Kitty, but even if she does like it now, how long will she really want it on her machine, when we all hope our machines last for years. I would think a small Project Runway machine would have more longevity .
