Most Bargello quilt designs use a progression of shades from light to dark of one to four colors (most often only one or two).
Hope this helps!
I have loved Bargello since High School in the 60s. Mom-6 is right. I have 3 books on needlepoint with lots of Bargello designs. One of the simplest and easiest Bargello patterns is a soft cover pattern book by Piecemakers of Costa Mesa CA called "The Bargello Book". Have fun and good luck.
