I have a Rowenta Powerglide 2 which is no longer made. This is the iron I use for steam. I've had it for probably 13 yrs. and it works OK, it spits a bit sometimes. I bought a travel Rowenta for paper piecing, since the weight of the other was a bit tiring on my wrist. It worked great for a couple years and then the handle broke, so it would collapse when I used it. Bummer, since it still heated. So I ended up getting a Rival at Target for $7 or 8.00. It's light weight, has a brushed sole plate, but heats up quickly and works fine for me. I could put water in it but don't. It does not shut off after a few minutes of no use.
