The curved pins are so much easier on your fingers. When you are pinning a few hundres to "baste" a quilt, they sure save you a lot of pain. I never thought of using a crochet hook to help close pins, but with the curved ones, I don't need it. The regular pins hurt my fingers so bad that I'm going to try the hook til I get rich enough to get more curved pins.
