for many years, my wife and i have traveled together for the local (raleigh, nc) shop hop. We both sew, she on a few-years-old kenmore; i on a vintage singer rocketeer. Well, this is the year we'll always remember. We got the call last week from the shop hop organizer. My wife won the grand prize - a bernina 350. Of course, my wife is over the moon.
A friend joked that my wife will never get to sew on it because i'll always be on it. Naturally i replied, "don't be silly. Berninas are nice, but they're no rocketeer - the greatest sewing machine ever built." (that's printed on the cover of the rocketeer manual.)
