I didn't realize it was a myth, my statement is based solely on my experience. And when I say "densely quilted", I mean quilts that are quilted for shows, with stitching every eighth inch or closer. Micro-quilting, I guess you could say. I do agree that certain batts are better than others for softness, I've stopped using W&N because I find it's stiffer. Because of the scrim, maybe?
