I know this should be easy, but it's sometimes the easy answers that confuse me!
I have alleviated the frustration of figuring out how much fabric to purchase for binding, backing, etc by downloading a FREE app to my iphone and tablet. It figures out total needed for backing as well as binding and other necessary information for a quilter. Just provide the length and width of your quilt. The App figures out number of strips for binding, as well as length of the strip for WOF cuts as well as bias strips. It is offered by Robert Kaufmann
