I remember when we lived in Scotland my family here in the states could not understand why we complained about the prices. I sent gifts with the tags on for them to see, but then had to remind them about the exchange rate. They said what was wrong with a £10.00 CD, I told them it cost me $19.50 in reality, this was back in 1991. It was said that things cost more on islands, it doesn't matter the size of the island things still cost more. Kenitte I remember your pain. Hope your SS sends you lots of fabric.
