I think we all make mistakes. I remember a quilting instructor, who has won major awards. saying that she has used sharpies or paints to cover small mistakes she discovered after she was finished.
It took me several tries to finish a block the other day, due to all the half-square triangles in it (first I didn't cut enough, then started sewing them together and realized I'd sewn the wrong sides of the units together -seam ripper time), but it came out wonderfully after all that. Sometimes you have to step back and take a break, regroup, and redo.
