When my ironing board is freshly washed, I iron a large piece of freezer paper onto my cover before using starch. It really keeps the surface cleaner. When the freezer paper starts to look nasty, I peel off the dirty piece and iron on another piece.
Brilliant idea! I'm gonna try that, next time my cover is clean!
