KittyD, just do a search in this forum and you'll find lots of posts on the subject. The key is to use the Elmer's School Glue since it washes out without any trace. Also, some suggest to thin the glue with some water when using it for basting.

I also liked using this method for basting my quilts. I am now using dots of the glue to keep my satin pieces together so that they are very stable while I sew them. Pins in satin just doesn't work that well for me but I'm finding the glue to be wonderful.
