I used Heritage Cutlery 6-1/2 inch Rag Quilting Snips VP7 - Klein Cutlery, Bolivar, NY.
Another board member mentioned them a while ago - they are extremely sharp and very easy to use.
Just remember to keep the latch on the 'down' side so it doesn't keep hooking itself.
