Default first time echo stitching...

Or maybe it is called echo quilting? Anyway, I have just done my first echo stitching, and I like it! It is not nearly as hard as I thought it would be, though it is going to take more time than SID, which has been my favorite so far.

I am really feeling brave....I recently got confident enough to do half square triangles, and I just finished a chevron top made entirely of those. And now I am echo stitching that quilt. This isn't any fancy curves or following daisy petals or anything, but it is still pretty brave for me. Almost too many new things in a row for this "experienced beginner." Maybe my next quilt will be an old favorite pattern where I don't even have to think!

I have read here that many quilters really like echo stitching, and I can see why now.

Hmmm, wonder if I can take a picture of where I am at and you all can tell me if it looks okay. I know it is a bit primitive yet, but I can only get better at it... Okay, I took a picture, though now I realize I may be feeling good about it a bit soon. I have only done both sides of the center white stripe. But I wanted to do some as soon as I finished sandwiching it so I wouldn't lose my confidence. I will do the rest of it tomorrow.
