I have seen sub par fabric in good quilt stores and I have seen good quality fabric at JoAnn's and Walmart. I hold myself accountable for the quality of the fabric I buy, not the store. If I buy sub par fabric, I have only myself to blame. My point is, you can get good and bad fabric at the chain stores, just like with your LQS.
